Tier 7 = Elementary Group - Intermediate

• Ages 8 - 10
• Generally 3rd - 5th grade students
• Players that have had more than three years of experience or lessons
• Starting to play competitively at USTA Tournaments: Rookie or Challenger levels
• Those preparing for the new 10 & Under format of play
• Focus on stroke development, service motion, net play
• Can execute topspin on both sides of groundstrokes
• Continuing to improve on footwork and movement on court
• Consistency of 10+ balls or more using orange low-compression balls
• Can play with control in 36' and 60' courts
• Service motion is 50% developed; hits with clean contact; double faults less than 30%
